This recertification is required if you have not been employed as a forest fire fighter within one year of the completion of your S-100 training or if you have not worked 15 days or more as an EFF (extra fire fighter).
In a class with others, over the course of one 8-hour day you will demonstrate your retention of the S-100 training through written tests and practical exercises. Successful completion of the course allows you to be eligible for employment in forest fire fighting. In order to work as an initial attack fire fighter, you must also register for pre-fit testing.
